Business Operations Manager – Banking

For our client a global banking platform we are seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to join the team in Berlin. Your team will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Product initiatives through project management and partner selection for new and existing product initiatives and ensuring maximum performance of vendors and partners used in our different solutions. You will have the unique opportunity to work on complex projects such as launching new product features while driving business strategy and operational change.

In this role, you will:

  • Become the central point of connection between internal and external stakeholders including Product/Tech, Legal/Compliance, Customers Operations, Banking Operations, Marketing and external partners
  • Collaborate with leadership across various functions on company management and strategic topics such as OKR definition and monitoring, roadmap development and business case development
  • Lead high-impact projects in Crypto Trading and Customer Service space from end-to-end from initial strategic design to delivery execution to ongoing improvement and management
  • Constantly review data to gain a deeper understanding of the products/projects under your supervision, and ensure their performance is in line with SLA’s
  • Be involved in the full lifecycle of partnership management from requirements gathering, through selection and negotiation to implementation of new partners and ongoing the supervision and analysis of their performance
  • Lead a team of at least 2 individuals and ensure their professional growth
  • Fully leverage and further develop critical business skills including quantitative and qualitative analysis, project management, communications, stakeholder management and leadership in a high-functioning team environment

What you need to be successful:

Background:

  • You have 4-6 years prior experience in fintech/banking, investment banking, or startups, ideally with a focus on financial services/fintech
  • Ideally graduated with an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics or a related field

Skills – Need to have:

  • Strong project management with experience in implementing large projects with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in being a people leader
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across departments to develop ideas, identify opportunities and resolve conflicts
  • Understanding of key business drivers and desire to proactively seek out opportunities and recommend solutions that can be effectively supported
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines and with shifting priorities
  • Experience in managing relationships with external partners and evaluating their performance; strong commercial acumen
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail and fluency in Excel
  • Deep understanding for the banking industry and an interest in investing, banking products and/or operations
  • A growth mindset and agile approach to problem-solving
  • Masters or MBA degree is a huge plus

Skills – Nice to have:

  • Fluency in SQL
  • Experience in Outsourcing Management
